Bomb Bradford. Kill Muzzies.

It's vital that the right people join together to sit in judgement on the BBC's appalling lack of balance. Step forward the distinguished panel that is Biased BBC's Question Time liveblog.

Last night they turned their minds towards the future of Bradford. It started with a discussion about equipment problems for British troops. What kit would be most useful in Afghanistan?

David Vance:

OK - we leave Afghanistan and invade Bradford...

[Comment From Martin]

Why invade Bradford? Is there anything there of value? Just flatten it

David Vance:

Well, fair point Martin

Why does the BBC pussyfoot around? Vance for DG. Martin for Head of News (+ Religion & Ethics).

Now!

  2. Just watched David Vance on hearts and minds. Shoddy animation aside, he spoke quite alot of sense.

  3. Did he?

He just can't help painting everything as an apocalyptic disaster that could be averted if everyone just listened to him.

Anyway, what point someone who speaks with forked tongue? Either the BBC is a monolithic leftist organisation that ruthlessly pushes an agenda - as Vance insists it is - or it's not.

If it is, why is this blowhard, who can barely contain his dislike for women, non-whites, gays and others in almost everything he writes, given a spot to air his views?

  4. I disagree.

He did come over as sensible, though his mickey-taking over the DUP/SF's disputes on Policing and Justice when they should be dealing with the economy seemed odd. Could this be the same David Vance whose scattergun blogging demands attention to a random collection of causes every time he strikes his keyboard?

Odd, too, that there was no ranting about bombing Bradford? Could this be because:

    1. Despite his Man-Who-Can't-Be-Silenced attitude, Vance secretly knows where the line lies on decent public behaviour?
    2. He's in the hands of The BBC, who do enforce standards of decency and impartiality, despite his protestations to the contrary?
    3. There's a Jekyll/Hyde thing going on, where TV's Mr Reasonable, left alone in front of the glowing screen, turns into a rabid kill-all-Muzzies redneck?

  5. Weird - the animation at the beginning is exactly how I imagine the B-BBC crowd would look if they all marched on the BBC. All of them, literally.
I think Martin is the guy in the red tie with blond hair at 00.07 secs.

  6. Hmmm. Or he could be the fat guy with specs, left of picture, at 00.14 secs.

  7. Just watched it. He does sound reasonable - he wants a mainstream platform so much you can almost taste it, and he'll do anything, including take sane lessons, to put his hand up.

He obviously can't see the contradiction between moaning about terrorists who killed 'thousands of people' (which they did) and his own 'bomb Bradford' remarks.

  8. I think of OMTE's three options, it must be number one. But this in turn prompts a question. Why does the BBC give a platform to someone capable of coming over as Mr Not Unreasonable who in a different context pumps out and encourages hate speech?

Most viewers won't know this but I can't believe the BBC doesn't, so doesn't this mean they are being dishonest with the audience?

  9. Well the 'hearts and minds' clip surely proves one thing; the BBC can't be biased against right wing viewpoints if they give that much airtime to David Vance to rant about like that. If they were the left wing-only, pro-GFA body he paints them as - would they really give him a platform like that?

More to the point, if he hates the BBC that much, wouldnt he refuse to go on their channels as a matter of principle?

  10. Air time, is air time and he is a media whore. He began his blog when his stint at politics collapsed, he also encouraged others like Robert Mc Cartney to blog but he declined. In that way he was ahead of the others who simply vanished into obscurity.

I wonder what his aim is? A recognised commentator? The problem for him I think is that he'd much prefer to be a British rather than N Irish blogger/commentator, but he cannot shrug off the peripherial sectarian clutches of NI.

Good luck to him, I wouldn't give up my day job if I were him, if indeed he has a day job other than blogging. If he has a job, I seriously wonder how he has the time for it!!!!
